On to the imporant stuff. I decided to make Friday Post Production Friday and post the before and afters of the shots. Hopefully it will show that I have some ability in this area lacking as it may be. :)
As you'll see below, one of the things you have to keep in mind when you have a viewfinder that is only 95% of what your camera "sees" you can wind up with things in your shot that you didn't intend. Thankfully LightRoom has a pretty good clone tool to get rid of the car.
The main image was processed in LightRoom.(click for a lager version) The border and text were added with a combination of GIMP and Photoshop. I used GIMP because its totally free and I wanted to try it. I may do some more processing with open source software. There is quite a bit out there and it wont cost me $500 that I would rather spend on gear.Details: Canon 50mm F1.4, ISO:100, F4.0 @ 1/125.
